I had to write "Captain Jack as Captain America!" instead of "John Barrowman as Captain America!" *headdesk*

EDIT: Obviously needs some changes since Tony and Jack run into each other a few months earlier, and not just twelve years ago.

“I think it’s time Captain America taught you a few lessons about what it means to be a hero, Stark.”

Tony hadn't been sure that was what Fury had said, being more than a little drunk when Fury had dragged him out of the workroom by the collar and tossed him into the Cobra. But now that Tony was somewhat sober and standing in the middle of some plaza on the wrong side of the Atlantic Ocean watching Fury’s red Shelby Cobra fly off into the distance, he was beginning to wonder if maybe he really was about to get a few lessons from Captain America.

Tony looked around, surprised at the buzz of nervousness building up in his chest. He knew, if he really was about to meet Captain America, the guy would be, at the very least, in his mid to late eighties. Still, the man was a legend, no matter how old he was-- and Tony realized that, as much as he wanted to met him, he was afraid to at the same time. The press referred to Iron Man as a hero, but Tony knew the truth and was afraid to know what the man who truly was a hero thought of a faker like him.

Pulling off the sunglasses Fury had thrown at him before pushing him out of the car, Tony rubbed his eyes, which were not happy with the current level of sunlight beating down on him, then slipped them back on. As he scanned the plaza, he suddenly got an itch between the shoulder blades. He casually turned around, trying to figure out why he felt as if someone was watching him. Not that that was anything new, but he usually wasn’t dressed in jeans and an oversized sweatshirt with a glowing power unit clearly visible in the center of his chest and no clue as to where he was when that happened. Luckily there weren’t many people wandering about, and he obviously looked strange enough that people were giving him a wide berth.

It wasn’t until he had turned completely around that he spotted the person watching him. A man in a heavy blue coat was standing beside a tall water sculpture staring straight at him. Tony frowned at the smile on the man’s face. The smile was oddly familiar…

“Jack?” Tony whispered.

The smile grew.

Tony slowly walked over to where Jack was standing. He looked the same as he had twelve years ago when they had met at a function not long after Tony had become CEO of Stark Industries. He stopped in front of Jack and took off his sunglasses.

“Jack,” Tony repeated, just to be sure his memory wasn’t playing tricks on him.

“Tony,” Jack said, then chuckled softly. Tony knew there was a silly grin appearing on his face as he listened to that laugh.

"What are you doing here?" Tony asked.

"I think I should be asking you that." Jack nodded in the direction Fury had gone. "Any particular reason why Nick dropped you off here in Cardiff, or is he just getting back at me for something?” Jack asked.

Tony blinked in surprise. “You know Colonel Fury?”

Jack smiled. “Yeah, you might say we go way back. So?”

Tony shrugged his shoulders. “Apparently I’m here to talk to Captain America, or get talked to-- I‘m not sure which.”

Jack stared at him then rubbed his forehead. “Ah.” He sighed then wrapped an arm around Tony‘s waist and pulled him close. "I think it might be better if we continue this conversation somewhere else.” He reached around Tony and tapped the device strapped to his wrist. Tony started to chuckle at the move, then stopped and grabbed Jack when the section of sidewalk they were standing on began dropping below street level.

Tony gave Jack a questioning look, but before he could ask what was going on, he was distracted by a loud screech. “What the hell was that?” he asked.

“Oh, that’s Myfanwy.” Jack pointed to a cave up near the top of the room they had dropped into. Tony could see a form moving in the shadows just inside the cave and for a moment had a little trouble accepting what he was seeing.

“You have a pterodactyl?”

“Actually, it’s a pteradon,” a voice said. Tony looked down and saw a man in a suit watching their decent while holding what appeared to be a mug of coffee in one hand. A little further beyond him, Tony spotted two women leaning around a bank of suspended computer screens who were also watching them. He smiled in their direction and they both blushed and hid behind the screens.

When the paver they were standing on settled into the floor, Jack stepped off and accepted the mug the man held out to him. The man then turned to Tony. “Can I get you something to drink, Mr. Stark?”

“Uh, yeah, you got any Scotch handy?” He looked up at the pteradon. “I think I need some.”

“I’ll see what I can find.” As he walked away, Jack pointed the mug towards the women. “Tony Stark, I’d like you to meet Gwen Cooper and Toshiko Sato.”

Both women waved, and one of them said, “Tosh is fine.” She blushed as she turned back to her screen.

The man in the suit returned and handed Tony a glass. “I’m hoping this will be satisfactory, sir.” Tony took a sip, his eyes widening in surprise at the smooth smoky taste of the malt he‘d just been handed. He grinned at the man and raised his glass. “This is more than satisfactory. Any chance I can buy the rest of the bottle off of you?”

“I’m sure that could be arranged.”

Jack chuckled. “And this is Ianto Jones.” He leaned over and added in an undertone, “He basically keeps me focused.”

Tony grinned. “Bet that’s a full time job.”

“It can be,” Ianto agreed with a straight face, though Tony didn't miss the sparkle of amusement in the man's eyes as he said it.

There was a clatter of footsteps, and a man dressed in a blood spattered lab coat appeared around a corner. The man was looking down at something in his hands as he said, “About time you got in. I just finished the examination of our little surprise from last night and--” The man looked up and stopped in his tracks. An exasperated look crossed his face as he looked between Jack and Tony. “You know,” the man said, “It’d be nice if you could give us a heads up when it’s open house day, Jack.”

Jack shook his head and smiled. “What have we got, Owen?”

Owen tossed the object in his hand at Jack. Jack caught it as Owen said, “We’ve got Hanverons.”

“Oh, not again,” Tosh muttered.

Owen waved a hand at Tony. “So, now that I've answered your question, mind telling me who the hell this guy is?”

Ianto looked at Owen and raised an eyebrow. “You really need to get out more.”

“Yeah, tell me about it. So, who is he?”

Jack laughed. “Dr. Owen Harper, meet Tony Stark.”

"Tony Stark?" Owen frowned as he studied Tony, then he scowled at Jack. “You’ve slept with him, haven’t you?”

There was a choking sound from the direction of the computers, then Gwen shouted “Owen!” as Jack said, “Well, yeah, of course I have.”

“Jack!” Gwen shouted, then put her head in her hands. Tony started laughing.

Owen rolled his eyes and looked at Ianto. Ianto shrugged. “That surprises you?” Ianto asked.

“Oddly enough, yeah it does,” Owen admitted. “Not sure why though.”

“Okay, well if you’re done analyzing my sex life Owen, how bout you and Gwen head out and see if you can track down the pod. I’m betting the one we found is the Guide, so you should be able to find the others in the same area waiting for him to unlock them for the transfer.” He tossed the object back to Owen.

Owen nodded. "Yeah, if they haven't figured out how to do that yet. We’ll head out as soon as I get some of this crap cleaned off me.” He saluted Tony with a quick tap of the object to his forehead. “Welcome to Torchwood, Mr. Stark.”

Tony grinned. “Thanks.”

Jack chuckled, then turned towards the computers. “Tosh, see if you can figure out where they‘ve been and make sure we don‘t have any other clean ups to do.” He then turned to Ianto, but before he could say anything, Ianto said, “I’ll contact the Consulate and arrange transfer of the body and the pod when we find them.”

“Thanks Ianto.” He gestured to Tony as he started walking away. “Come on, we can talk in my office.”

As they headed across the room, Tony asked, “Consulate?”

“Yeah. The Hanveron’s sometimes use Earth as a, well, bus stop. Usually it’s not a problem, unless it’s a prison transfer. When it is a transfer, there’s always something that manages to go wrong.” They headed up a flight of stairs. “We’ve asked them to choose somewhere else, but Earth is too good a location for them to give up easily, and it’s not like we can stop them.” Jack opened the door and let Tony in.

As Tony stepped into the room and turned around to ask what the hell he was talking about, Jack grabbed his head and pulled him in for a kiss. Tony hadn’t been aware of how much he had been waiting for Jack to do that until he was pushing Jack against the wall and kissing him back. Unfortunately they had yet to put their drinks down and they broke apart, laughing, as they set their cups down to free their hands.

Before they could continue the kiss, a phone began to ring. Jack rolled his eyes and pulled a cell phone out of a pocket. Without looking at the display, Jack flipped it open and said, "Nick."

Jack shifted his gaze to Tony. "Yes, he here. Care to enlighten me as to why?" A look of amazement spread across Jack's face. "You want me to what? You've got the wrong person, Nick." He listened silently for a few minutes. "There are a hell of a lot better choices than me for that type of lesson you know. I'm not exactly hero--" He blew out a breath. "Yeah, one time! Yeah, okay, maybe it has been two of three times but...Yeah I... Nick...Nick...okay! Okay, sure I'll do it. No, this is you getting back at me for sleeping with one of your contractor. And could I just point out he wasn't a contractor at the time?" Jack laughed. "I don't believe you just said that. Fine, I'll see what I can do, though I think you're making a mistake here." Jack looked back at Tony, and Tony could feel his heart racing in anticipation of the promise of fun those eyes held. "Uh, that's kind of a given, Nick." Jack shook his head. "Hey, you sent him here, you've got no one to blame but yourself for that. Yeah, I'll talk to you later, Nick."
